Twin Cities Book Fest this SATURDAY

2dc is returning to the MN State Fairgrounds once again this weekend -- this time with Will Dinski repping / pimping / signing his latest and greatest, Ablatio Penis. Both Justin and I (Raighne) will be milling around the show floor and behind the table this time too. I'll be there when the doors open, and Justin will be there when they close, so if you like one of us more than the other, plan accordingly!

As it’s autumn out, we’ll have our fall colors surrounding AP -- expect to see Christopher Adams' 2dc debut comic Period as well as Justin's newest little inscrutable menace, RDCD Fist 1.5.

As always, the usual 2dc party favors will be on hand too, such as the on sale Little Heart (50% off!! just try and dodge that deal), the quiet beauty Startled Maggie, the wordless fable Things You Carry, the dirty Minnesotan flavors of Motherlover, Noah Van Sciver’s Ignatz nominated The Death of Elijah Lovejoy, and so on. So VISIT US already!! You won’t be disappointed, promise. 

ZINES -- MPLS Z-FEST THIS WEEKEND

Local zine and comics show, ZINE FEST [dot] ORG, is having a party at their place, the Powderhorn Park Recreational Center in MPLS on Saturday. Party starts around noon and goes till 6pm. A bunch of Z-Fest’s bestest homies will be there, such as 2D Cloud (we go waay back), King-Cat/Spit and a Half, Uncivilized Books, Eric Schuster of 'Prizon Food' fame, LadyQuest -- which includes Coleman Gilbert & Greer Lawson (who is of course 2DC’s intern extraordinaire), Anna Bongiovanni, Hedwig Vinson, Brett Von Schlosser -- aww cripes, this is tiring -- I’m not gonna list everyone for yah. Representing 2dc will be publisher Justin Skarhus and cartoonist Will Dinski (both of whom will have new works seeing their local debuts at the show -- RDCD Fist 1.5 and Ablatio Penis).

2dc elf-friends, Eric Schuster, Anna Bongiovanni, and Greer Lawson will be swimming around the show floor at their own tables as well. I’m pretty sure the amazing poet and zinester Gabrielle Congrave will be in the house too. And heck, for the last hour even I’ll (R. Hogan)  swing on by.

Twin Cities Zine Fest 2011 is coming up!

Hello folks! In a few short weeks the Twin Cities Zine Fest will be upon us. The date to mark on the calender is this Sept. 24th, a Saturday. Noon to 5pm, Justin and maybe Nic Breutzman will be holding down the 2DC table. We will have the usual books, comics, mini's and maybe a couple new little things premiering at the show. We will see.

That image is the first part of a 3 pager that I submitted to TCZF -- they are going to have a How-To zine / comic encyclopedia / anthology thing involving everyone that is at the show! A pretty neat idea if you ask me.

I'll have another update tomorrow covering our fall line up, new books in the shop, and perhaps some other odds and ends. See yah then!

ZineFest 2010

Man.  The days are flying by.  ZineFest 2010 is just about upon us!  Crikey!

The important stuff:
The place = Steven's Square Center for the Arts
1905 3rd Ave S Minneapolis (it's a few blocks north of the MIA)

Date = July 10th, 2010.

Time = 11am-5pm

It's going to be a pretty sweet event, and we would really love to see you there! 

And with a bicycle activist panel led by Microcosm's Joe Biel, letterpress demos, a Zinefest button vending machine, live zine readings, a history of the postal service + "Can I Ship This?" Q&A delivered by the USPS, and an  after-party with live music; ALL priced at the recession proof price of FREE-- How could you be so foolish as to miss it?

Justin S. and Sarah T. will be at the 2D Cloud table with our usual stable of odd funny books to check out, including an early sunday edition of Good Minnesotan 4.   There are only one or two of those versions left.    Snap 'em up, and again, visit!
